Attorneys Make a Stand on Expert Witness Testimony for Nursing Standards of Care
The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) has made a position statement regarding who may testify on the standard of care of a nurse. “…it is the position of TAANA that, in a nursing malpractice action, where the applicable standard of nursing care is established through expert testimony, that expert must be a nurse.”

Written by attorneys who in fact are nurses, this website-posted statement demonstrates the strength of its arguments through legal definitions, examples of Court decisions, Supreme Court statements, and scholarly arguments.
