Celebrating International Orthopedic Nurses Week October 28 – November 1

In celebration of International Orthopedic Nurses Week that is observed October 28 – November 1, 2019 we are featuring our nursing Expert 7287.

Our featured orthopedic expert has been in the field of nursing for over 30 years and has been working on an orthopedic trauma unit/medical-surgical floor since 1991 caring for patients undergoing planned orthopedic procedures, multi-trauma and joint replacements.  She also has experience in critical care nursing and orthopedic oncology.

She holds memberships with the Medical-Surgical Nurses Association (AMSN), American Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), American Nurses Association (ANA), National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON) and National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA).

Our nurse has delivered presentations on topics such as neurovascular assessments and documentation, medication errors in ambulatory surgery, compartment syndrome and prevention of falls.  She also has publications on topics such as complications with orthopedic surgeries, falls, orthopedic nursing malpractice and pressure ulcers.

This nurse has active nursing licenses in Massachusetts and Maine and is available nationwide.
