They are able to provide reports and testify to the standard of care for many issues involving falls, medication administration/management, physical assessments, blood transfusions, wound care, and much more.

This area of nursing is one of the largest nursing specialties and nurses in this field have a high level of knowledge and experience in all aspects of acute care. A medical-surgical nurse expert can write reports and give testimony on all areas.

A nurse can become a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) through the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB).
